Wall Street’s new obsession: reading Washington

Chicago Booth’s Luigi Zingales, Robert C. McCormack Distinguished Service Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance,  argues that markets work best when investors are rewarded for predicting the next breathrough, rather than gaining political favor, despite that being very appealing in today's age.  Anticipating what companies will benefit from the current presidential administration's actions has become a popular strategy, and Zingales argues that this is, "a terrible sign of not only the market, but the economy."
