Booth's Eric Zwick, Joel F. Gemunder Professor of Economics and Finance and Charles E. Merrill Faculty Scholar, joins NPR on Planet Money to discuss how the falling prices of homes can leave owners overstretched, and "underwater". This could come to be as homeowners may take on more debt and owe more on mortgages than their houses are worth. "Lax lending standards" which have caused major issues and crashes in the past was one factor Zwick raised concern with.
